Q: How would you pitch to the biz to make your favorite book into a movie?

Am I allowed to sweetened the deal?

Truth be told, my favorite books a.k.a the Harry Potter Series have already been turned into movies. I believe that knowing they could not only sell the films, but toys and clothing apparel made the deal even more appealing. Having a huge set of fans behind the book (like for The Fault in our Stars) helps as well.

What's your favorite book/film adaptation?

  1. I agree, I think having an appealing audience makes movie companies want to produce the film.

  2. I agree. If the book isn't popular, I don't see them even considering making it a movie.

    1. I like it when you can say: I read the book first, lol. I love seeing it in my mind before the book screen.

  3. I guess my faves are the Harry Potter movies! Though the Divergent films are 2 for 2 so far! Just hoping they make Allegiant stay true to the book. I feel like one of the only ones who didn't hate the ending of it. I didn't love it, but I felt it made sense and all that. I was emotional for sure, but I wouldn't change it!

  5. Yep, you're definitely right. If a book already has a large dedicated fanbase, it's pretty much guaranteed to do well at the box office - regardless of whether the movie lives up to the book's standards. People will go and watch it just out of that curiosity. I think Divergent is a good example of just that.

    1. Very true. It didn't have as much publicity as other blockbusters but it made good bucks.

  6. I never liked the Harry Potter movies that much. Don't get me wrong, I saw them all at midnight but I wanted more out of them. I did enjoy the second to last film the most. I hated some of the changes they made and what they left out. I'd like to see a series of Harry Potter, or at least in the Potterverse.

  7. Yup you're right. If the book is popular enough it will do well on its own. New GFC, Bloglovin' and Instagram follwer!
