Feature & Follow Friday

Parajunkee / Alison Can Read

FEATURE & FOLLOW FRIDAY

Once you answer be sure to leave me your link so I can follow you back

Q: We always talk about the books that WE want. Let's turn it on its head. What books have you given other people lately?

Okay. To be honest I always give people books and they don't like it. What do they want? Apparently gift cards so they can go shopping. Where is the logic in that...

So two weeks ago, I told myself it would be the last time I would ever, ever gift literature and bought a copy of Divergent for my aunt.

The result:

  11. That's so funny. The only thing you can do is to keep trying. I bought a ton of books for my BF, some of my favorites, and she didn't read any of them. Instead she was fascinated with my Nook and only reads ebooks now. I don't think I would want anyone gifting me a book because I own so many already, but GCs are always appreciated.

Thanks for visiting my blog and becoming a follower, I just followed you right back.

  14. Hahaha I gift everyone books but they're not always so appreciative either!
Regardless as a reader and writer I refuse to give them money to buy junk :P I do try to get them stuff they're interested in so they'll be more inclined to read it :)

    Great FF!!

  15. LOL!! Love your post! I can't stop laughing. And I'm in the same boat—although I know my fam and friends are thankful for getting a book as a gift, they don't appreciate it as much I would. Then there are moments when they WANT a book more than anything else.

I do that same thing with pictures every year for Christmas I give my in laws a family undated photo in a nice frame or a nice pic of my kids and they apparently have grown tired of it so I stopped and this year, they were wondering were their picture was, you sometimes can't win. 23. Whenever there is a new baby in the family, I am the one who insists on giving them a book for every birthday and Christmas. Even my first niece! My brother says I should give her something else, and I always will give something else, but always a book! New GFC follower, thanks for stopping by my FF as well!

  24. I understand about people wanting gift cards, but I always give them a book along with the card. I keep hoping that perhaps they will learn to love reading, but who knows. I hopped by to become your newest GFC and twitter follower. Sent a Goodreads friend request as well. Have a fantastic rest of the weekend. http://www.kittycrochettwo.blogspot.com
